What are Porcelain Veneers?
The dictionary defines veneer as a thin layer or covering. Likewise, porcelain veneers are micro-thin coverings for you’re the teeth that show most prominently when you smile. Made of dental porcelain or composite resin, veneers are custom designed and fabricated to construct a smile that complements your features. When designing veneers for Spring, TX, residents, Dr. LeBlanc carefully considers your complexion and hair and eye color in addition to the size and shape of your mouth. This way, you can be sure your new smile will be a perfect fit just for you. And because they are made of porcelain, veneers gleam and shine just like natural teeth.
Fixing Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers
Veneers can be used to correct a myriad of smile imperfections, including:
- Chipped teeth
- Broken or slightly fractured teeth
- Stained and discolored teeth that are unresponsive to whitening
- Unevenly spaced teeth that show unsightly gaps
- Misshaped teeth or teeth that are proportionally smaller than others
- Teeth that are misaligned and crooked
Some people spend years and go to the expense of having several different cosmetic and restorative procedures to improve their smiles. But with porcelain veneers, you can have that beautiful smile over the course of usually only two appointments with Dr. LeBlanc.
Receiving Porcelain Veneers
At your first appointment, Dr. LeBlanc will need to slightly reduce the size of teeth receiving veneers. A minimal amount of each tooth’s enamel surface is removed in order to ensure that your veneers fit comfortably and look as if they are a seamless part of your smile. Then, we’ll take impressions of your teeth and give you a set of temporary veneers to wear while our cosmetic dental lab creates your permanent set.
At the second appointment, Dr. LeBlanc will remove the temporaries and check to make sure each individual veneer is perfectly designed for the tooth it will conceal. If everything looks right, then the veneers are cemented to your teeth. Care for your new smile with regular brushing and flossing, and you’re veneers will give you many years of beauty and confidence.
