Who is an ideal candidate for professional teeth whitening?

Professional teeth whitening is an incredibly popular cosmetic dentistry procedure, largely helped through the media obsession with pearly white teeth. These days it isn’t just reserved for the realm of the rich and famous either, and more of us mere mortals are having this procedure than ever before.  But can any of us benefit from it, and who would make the ideal candidate for such a procedure?

Well, just about anyone that has discolouration of their teeth can benefit from having professional teeth whitening. Teeth often become stained over the years, perhaps through smoking or the consumption of strong coffee, red wine, and other stain-inducing substances, and it often takes more than whitening toothpaste for the effects to be noticeable.

Having perfectly white teeth looks incredibly healthy and attractive, and even if people’s teeth aren’t overly yellowed they could still be given a much fresher look just by undergoing a quick bleaching procedure. It’s one of the quickest ways to improve your appearance, and the results can often make a huge difference.

However, this cosmetic dentistry treatment only works on natural teeth to improve their existing colour. Anyone with false teeth won’t be able to benefit from such procedures, so if dentures, crowns or veneers become stained, you’ll need to go to the dentist to have them specially cleaned instead.

As you can see, just about everyone will be able to benefit from teeth whitening. The more stained your teeth the more marked the effects can be, but that doesn’t mean that people with only mild or moderate discolouration can’t benefit. Even a slight change is bound to make a huge difference, not only to your appearance but also to how you feel, so undergoing this procedure would definitely be recommended.
